Start sawing logs into lumber with the robust, entry-level LX55 portable sawmill! Designed for entry-level sawyers, hobbyists, and woodworkers, the LX55 portable sawmill replaces Wood-Mizer’s current entry-level LT10 sawmill while providing a larger cut capacity, more power options, and many upgraded features. The LX55 features the rigid LX Frame sawhead tower that holds the control panel, engine, and sawmill head in a rigid, stable structure that travels on twin parallel steel bed rails. The simple and sturdy sawmill design enables the LX55 to make accurate, precise cuts quickly and efficiently.
Operation
Loaded and turned manually with a cant hook or log peavey, logs are secured onto the low profile bed by two adjustable side supports and two adjustable log clamps that tightly fasten the log and allow for cuts within 25mm of the bed. To prepare for cutting, saw head height is positioned by a quick turn of the up/down hand crank. Once the blade is effortlessly engaged with a handle, cutting is accomplished by steadily pushing the saw head along the length of the log by using a no-maintenance push feed bar. Turned on and off with a manual valve, a water tank feeds lubrication directly to the blade to improve cutting performance and keep the blade clean. The optional adjustable blade guide arm keeps the blade well supported while cutting various sized material. Once the cut is completed, the head is raised up, pulled back, and lowered into position for the next cut.
